This was an experience I had in high high school in 1982. During a three week trip to France, where we visited Paris, Fountainbleu, Beaune and the l'Hôtel-Dieu, Grenoble, Marseille and the Château d'If, Nîmes, the Pont du Gard and Provence.
We also had 1½ week home stay in Vernouillet-sur-Seine. During this experience, we were expected to immerse ourselves in thelanguage and culture. I was very lucky to have a host family that gaveme the grand tour of the surrounding area. We visited the Château de Maisons-Laffitte, the Musée d'Archéologie Nationale at the Châ¢eau de Saint- Germain-en-Laye, the neighboring Palais de Versailles as well as going to the Le Marché aux Puces in Saint Ouen.
In Paris, we visited all of the regular tourists spots. I also made a point to visit the musée national du Moyen Âge at L'Hôtel de Clunybecause of my interest in Roman history - which makes more sense whenit is explained that the Cluny Museum is built on the ruins of the thermes gallo- romains (Ier-IIIe siècles)
